I’m not noticing a difference in my health on your supplements. Are they not working?
This is first and foremost why we recommend retesting. It’s important to understand that health and wellness is a lifelong journey. Ūnomi’s supplements are all-natural and designed to work with your body rather than against it. As such, this process can take time and vary from individual to individual. Our ūnomi clinicians expect to see variations in response times based on things like lifestyle, gut health and compliance. You may not be feeling a difference, but are tests can show for sure if we’re moving the needle or not. If you have any questions, however, about your journey with ūnomi, please give us a call, send an email, or chat with us. We’re here to help guide you on your unique path to health and wellness.
How do the at-home tests work?
Watch our helpful 101 video to get all of the details about how it works.
Why do you test saliva, blood and urine?
Here is quick breakdown of each of the ways ūnomi tests your body, and what we test for:
- When we test your urine, we’re trying to understand → Sleep and mood by looking at your brain chemicals
- When we test your blood, we’re trying to understand → Heart health, testosterone, Vitamin D levels, blood glucose levels and how efficiently your body uses its blood glucose and more
Will my test results compare with those taken at the lab?
Lab results will be comparable. Keep in mind that when testing bodily fluids such as blood and urine, there is variation. Of course, testing with any method whether it is done at a lab (venipuncture) or at home (with finger stick or dry urine collection) will be comparable. Even if you took your blood by venipuncture multiple times in a row, it would not be exact. Many times we are looking at ratios to determine your nutritional needs.
Are there medications that could interfere with my test?
In short - yes. Each test kit has collection instructions that are unique to that kit. It’s important to read collection instructions on your kit front to back before testing. We actually recommend that you take the time to read these instructions the day before you test. There are many things you’ll want to take into consideration prior to collecting your sample.
Is it okay to test if I’m pregnant? Can I take the supplements?
Always check with your physician before starting anything new, but we provide all-natural products that that in the majority of cases can be taken while pregnant or nursing. That said, always refer to physician in regards to taking supplements while nursing or pregnant. Testing while pregnant is perfectly okay.
Do you accept insurance?
Ūnomi is a nutritional program and not a healthcare program, so it is not covered by health insurance. We have priced our kits to make them less than those co-pays!
What are neurotransmitters?
Neurotransmitters are the brain chemicals that communicate information throughout our brain and body. They relay signals between nerve cells, called “neurons.” The brain uses neurotransmitters to tell your heart to beat, your lungs to breathe, and your stomach to digest. They can also affect mood, sleep, concentration, weight, and can cause adverse symptoms when they are out of balance. Neurotransmitter levels can be depleted many ways. As a matter of fact, it is estimated that 86 percent of Americans have suboptimal neurotransmitter levels. Things like stress, poor diet, neurotoxins, genetic predisposition, drugs (prescription and recreational), alcohol and caffeine usage can cause these levels to be out of optimal range.
